A Brief History:

Disputes Resolved was founded in 1993 by James Franks and John Mulcare to assist disputants (the parties) to resolve their disputes as quickly as possible, at the least cost and with minimum stress and inconvenience for all concerned. Both partners were accredited as mediators by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), having commenced their training in 1991. 

Disputes Resolved has expanded rapidly since its inception and has a network of over 150 accredited mediators, through which it operates country-wide. CEDR invited Disputes Resolved to act as ambassadors for them. However, mediators with other recognised training and pupilage are accepted on the panel. The experience of mediators drawn from various disciplines is wide-ranging and enables a comprehensive mediation service to be offered. After a long and successful career, James Franks decided to retire and the business operated

In January 2010 Ivan Over took over the business and was made Director of Disputes Resolved, whilst James Franks stepped down and continues as a Consultant. Ivan Over has been in the construction industry for over 30 years and is a quantity surveyor and is a fellow of the RICS, the same institute that he gained qualification as a Mediator. His son, Jon Over is also of a construction background and has a BA (Hons) in Business and is a qualifed mediator through the Institute of Arbitration (MCIArb).

The Future:

With the help of a small close knit team, their vision is to build on the foundations that James Franks created and to develop Disputes Resolved by doing the following:

Promote: Disputes Resolved want to raise the awareness and understanding of Mediation and how it could help potential clients.

Expand: Our long term aim is to be able to provide the whole of the UK and beyond with independant Mediators, Arbitrators and Adjudicators to help more and more clients resolve their conflicts as quickly and efficently as possible.

Partnerships: We are always looking to form partnerships with local authorites, large and small businesses and solicitors and provide them with a first class service.
